Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
He defended 4 early-game chances in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
